Noak Bridge is a village on the northern edge of Basildon, off the A176 between the town and Billericay. Although built comparatively recently, in the 1970s and 80s, it was deliberately designed in a traditional village style — with a green, a pond and cottage-style housing around The Forge — and is often cited as an example of good small-scale planned development.
Noak Bridge has a conservation area covering its village core and is bordered by the Noak Bridge Nature Reserve, a small local wildlife site. The village has a strong community identity, its own primary school, and local shops, while remaining within easy reach of Basildon town centre.
Its quieter, greener setting makes Noak Bridge one of the more sought-after residential areas in the borough.
